The Remnant Counselor Collective (RCC) is an online virtual community dedicated to fostering support, encouragement, connection, and professional collaboration among Christian mental health professionals. RCC exists to provide a faith-based space where professionals can share resources, seek guidance, and grow in their field while adhering to biblical values. Membership in this community is a privilege and requires agreement with the following covenant statement and professional conduct guidelines.
As a member of the Remnant Counselor Collective, I commit to the following principles:
1. Build Each Other Up: I will encourage one another and build each other up, using words and actions that promote spiritual and professional growth (Romans 15:1-2). I will refrain from gossip, slander, and destructive criticism, seeking instead to uplift and edify my fellow members.
2. Freely Give Grace to One Another: I will treat each other with humility, compassion, kindness, gentleness, and patience, understanding that we are all on a journey of growth and learning (Colossians 3:12-13). I will extend grace in disagreements and seek mutual understanding.
3. Care for Each Other: We will bear each other’s burdens through comfort, consolation, and intercession, offering prayer and support to those in need (Galatians 6:2). We will engage in active listening and provide encouragement to those who are struggling personally or professionally.
4. Respect Each Other: We will not discriminate against others based on race, national origin, age, gender, or disability. We will also respect diversity in personal and theological perspectives, provided they align with biblical truth. No threat, gesture, or act of violence will be tolerated (Colossians 3:11-14; 1 John 3:14-18). We will engage in civil discourse and resolve conflicts in a Christ-honoring manner.
5. Speak the Truth in Love: We will hold each other accountable and approach each other in love, correcting with kindness and gentleness when needed (Ephesians 4:15). Members will express concerns with a spirit of humility rather than condemnation.
6. Reconciliation, Restoration, Restitution: In the event of hurt feelings or broken relationships, we will seek to reach out to each other for the purpose of restoration and restitution (Matthew 5:23-24, 18:15-17). Conflict resolution will be handled through prayer, biblical counsel, and mutual dialogue.
By joining the RCC, members agree to uphold professional integrity and ethical behavior in all interactions. This includes:
1. Appropriate and Professional Behavior: Members will communicate with respect, kindness, and professionalism at all times. No insults, name-calling, inflammatory remarks, or offensive language will be tolerated. Discussions should reflect biblical wisdom and grace, even in disagreement.
2. Confidentiality: Members shall not share any client-identifying information when consulting, discussing cases, or describing their mental health professional activities within the RCC. All discussions must maintain ethical and legal standards of confidentiality in accordance with professional regulations and licensure requirements. Specifically we follow the American Counseling Association's Code of Ethics in regards to client topics.
3. Intellectual Integrity: Members will not plagiarize materials when posting to the community. All shared content must be properly attributed (cited) and used with permission when necessary. The RCC encourages the sharing of original insights and responsibly sourced materials to promote professional growth.
4. Faith-Aligned Engagement: Members are expected to conduct themselves in alignment with a Christian foundation and framework or total worldview, upholding biblical principles in discussions and collaborations. This includes maintaining Christ-like character in all interactions and using scripture as the foundation for professional and ethical decision-making.
5. Constructive Discourse: RCC is a place for learning and growth, not division or hostility. Members will strive for peaceful and productive discussions, seeking common ground where possible and handling disagreements with grace and respect.
6. Accountability Measures: If a member violates these ethical standards, appropriate steps will be taken, including private discussion, mediation, and, if necessary, removal from the community. RCC leadership reserves the right to take corrective action as needed to maintain the integrity of the group.
Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in removal from the community.
