Join a Consultation or Debrief Group (or both!)
As mental health professionals, we emphasize the importance of processing experiences for our clients, yet many of us neglect to do the same for ourselves. The work we do is emotionally demanding, ethically complex, and deeply personal. Without a structured space for reflection, we risk burnout, isolation, and blind spots in our practice. This is why joining a debrief or consultation group is not just beneficial—it’s essential. Whether you need a place to process challenging cases, receive feedback, or simply connect with others who understand the weight of this work, committing to at least one of these groups will strengthen both your clinical effectiveness and your well-being. The best therapists are not those who work in isolation but those who engage in ongoing dialogue and growth. So, the challenge is clear: Will you take the step to invest in yourself and your practice by joining a debrief or consultation group?

Add a Therapy Resource, Worksheet, or Article to the Remnant Library
As mental health professionals, we know that collaboration strengthens our field and enhances the support we provide to clients. Yet, too often, we keep valuable tools and resources to ourselves rather than sharing them with others who could benefit. That’s why we’re challenging you to contribute to the Remnant Resource Library by adding at least one therapy resource or worksheet. Whether it’s a handout you’ve found helpful, a worksheet you’ve created, or a resource that has made a difference in your practice, your contribution could equip another professional with exactly what they need to support a client. The more we share, the stronger we all become. So, will you take this step to give back, collaborate, and help build a library that benefits us all? The challenge is set—what resource will you contribute?

Whether it’s a piece on new therapeutic techniques, self-care strategies, ethical dilemmas, or industry trends, expanding your knowledge can enhance both your practice and your perspective. A few minutes of reading could spark new ideas, challenge your thinking, or provide a much-needed reminder of why you do this work. So, will you take this simple yet powerful step to invest in your professional growth? The challenge is set—what will you read today?

Attend Five (5) Community Wide Events
As mental health professionals, we often encourage our clients to build strong support systems, yet how often do we prioritize our own sense of connection and community? The work we do is meaningful but can also be isolating if we don’t intentionally engage with others who share our mission. That’s why Remnant is hosting community-wide events twice a month—creating spaces for collaboration, shared wisdom, and professional renewal. Attending at least five of these events isn’t just about networking; it’s about fortifying yourself with the collective strength of a like-minded community. These gatherings offer opportunities to learn, share, and grow in ways that individual practice simply cannot. So here’s the challenge: Will you step out of your routine, invest in your professional and personal growth, and commit to attending five community-wide events? The connections you make could redefine your practice and reignite your passion for the work.

Message and/or Connect with Five (5) other Professionals
As mental health professionals, we know the power of connection—but how often do we step outside our existing circles to build new professional relationships? Growth doesn’t happen in isolation, and neither does impact. Expanding your network introduces fresh perspectives, new opportunities, and potential collaborations that can strengthen your practice and the field as a whole. That’s why we’re challenging you to reach out and connect with five professionals you don’t already know. A simple message—whether to a fellow therapist, supervisor, educator, or advocate—can open doors you never expected. Whether you exchange insights, share resources, or simply offer support, these connections can enrich your work and reinforce the importance of community in our profession. So, will you take the step to expand your reach, invest in new relationships, and strengthen the collective strength of our field? The challenge is set—who will you connect with first?

Create a Personal Story
As mental health professionals, we spend so much time holding space for others that we often forget to share our own journeys. But our stories—our challenges, triumphs, and lessons—are what connect us, inspire growth, and remind us that we are not alone. That’s why we’re challenging you to contribute a personal story to the Remnant Counselor Collective. Whether it’s a professional milestone, a moment of struggle, a lesson learned, or an unexpected breakthrough, your story has the power to encourage, uplift, and resonate with others in ways you might not even realize. Vulnerability fosters connection, and by sharing, you help build a stronger, more authentic community. So, will you take this step to let others into your journey and be part of something greater? The challenge is set—what story will you tell?

Run 100 Miles and Enter a 5k
As mental health professionals, we talk to our clients about the importance of self-care, movement, and setting goals—but how often do we challenge ourselves in the same way? Physical endurance builds mental resilience, and committing to a tangible goal can be just as transformative for us as it is for those we serve. That’s why we’re challenging you to run 100 miles in the next six months and sign up for a local 5K. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting out, every step you take is an investment in your physical and mental well-being. This challenge isn’t about speed or perfection—it’s about pushing your limits, staying accountable, and proving to yourself that you are capable of more than you think. So, will you take this step toward strengthening both your body and your mind? The challenge is set—lace up your shoes and get moving!

Battle Your Anxiety
In the article "An Attempt at the Theology of Dealing With Anxiety", Dr. Andrew Wichterman provided a helpful protocol for dealing with anxiety in a way that leads to joy and deeper connection with God. No surprise here, we counselors need help dealing with our own anxiety from time to time. For this challenge, choose one of the resources in the article to implement into your battle with anxiety, and share a story with the community about your experience with anxiety since implementing this change. Don't forget, we're in this together!
